Hello,
Thanks very much for viewing my profile. I find that there are only a few things more difficult than writing about myself. But I'll try, even though I might not do it 100% justice.
Brief summary:
My name is
Name Visible on Login. I'm 37 years old and I currently live in Bangalore, India. I plan to move to Amsterdam in a couple of months with my dog, Luca.
My family describe me as creative, optimistic, patient.
My friends would call me empathetic, amiable, and quirky.
Others my say I'm agnostic, liberal, and egalitarian, and sustainability conscious.
About my family:
Back at home in Kerala, there's my mum, dad, and my brother, who take care of their family-run business which is construction.
I could say my upbringing was progressive, positive, and far from patriarchal. My parents always encouraged me to share my space, time, and things with my loved ones, and be myself.
... more
I grew up outside of my home ever since I was a kid. Boarding school, under graduation in Chennai, and masters in the UK.
Although I grew up away from my family for most of my life, I believe the bond that I share with my family has only grown stronger over the years.
I always look back at the time spent with them as pleasant and nostalgic, and have deep meaningful conversations with my family when I get a chance.
Hobbies:
I take my hobbies quite seriously and they include film photography, gardening, hiking, writing, reading, and travelling.
I love cooking Italian and Asian food and I've travelled quite extensively across Europe, North America, and Asia.
I always cherish and find joy in narrating fun and meaningful experiences from my travels to places which include:
Japan, Portugal, the US, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Italy, France, the Netherlands, the UK, Sri Lanka, Dubai, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Interests:
I am profoundly passionate about history, philosophy, arts and culture, and biology. I love the animal kingdom and I love spending time in nature.
Apart from that, I love to run and do my workouts, as I feel the daily dose of dopamine and oxytocin is essential to get through the day.
Although I consider myself as a social being, I love my own space, or me time if you will, which I use to read, reflect, sleep, and spend time planning my life.
It's not all roses:
I find it quite funny that people tend to only portray the best versions of themselves on a platform like this, and I feel it doesn't pain the full picture.
So I'll say that as a person I have my own flaws. I see a lot of things in grey and it's not always black and white for me. I'm not the most confrontational person you'll ever meet. I sometimes tend to overcompensate as somewhere deep down I believe I owe people my time and energy more than I actually do.
That said, I can also say that I take active efforts to evaluate myself and let the light in through the cracks, if that's not too poetic :)
What I'm looking for:
I'm looking for a best friend whom I can trust myself to build a life and all the positive, meaningful, insightful, painful, sweet, and fun times it throws at us mere mortals. I'm not sure if I will find that person, but I'm hopeful. I can get unrealistically optimistic like that :)
All the best for your search. More in person!
